MISS DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA USA 2023

Miss District of Columbia USA 2023 is Cassie Baloue (She/ Her/ Hers). She was crowned on April 15, 2023 at the historic Lincoln Theatre in northwest Washington DC and will represent the District of Columbia at the 2023 Miss USA Pageant.  

Cassie is a digital press secretary in the United States House of Representatives working for Representative Eric Swalwell of California’s 14th Congressional District. She previously interned with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and was awarded the Achievement Award from long-time House Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of the Texas’s 18th Congressional District. Her life ambition is to obtain a Master’s degree in Public Policy and become a political strategist who advocates for social issues. 

Cassie dedicates her time to her community. She founded Cancer Collections, a panelist series that promotes cancer awareness, and partners with organizations to help educate communities on the early signs and symptoms of cancer with the goal of enabling more people with cancer symptoms to seek treatment at earlier stages. Cassie is proud to have advocated for the “Find It Early Act” introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2022, which would ensure all health insurance plans cover screening and diagnostic breast imaging with no out-of-pocket costs for women at higher risk for breast cancer. Cassie is also a Legislative Ambassador with the American Cancer Society and recently joined forces with with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as a fundraiser for their Visionaries of the Year campaign. 

Cassie is a signed model with Kingsley Model Management and a member of the non- partisan organization Women in Government Relations. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California Merced and is a member of Delta Gamma sorority.
