MISS DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA TEEN USA 2022

Miss District of Columbia Teen USA 2022 is Asia Hickman (She/Her/Hers). She was crowned on June 4, 2022 and competed at the 2022 Miss Teen USA Pageant on October 1, 2022 in Reno, Nevada. 

Asia was born in Ansbach, Germany to a military family.  She is a classically trained musician and plays the piano, saxophone, and violin.  Asia began performing at age 8 and has showcased her musical talents with performances across the globe, including performances in Germany, South Korea, and Italy.  She has performed in all of the concert halls at the historic Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall at the Kaufman Music Center, and the world-famous Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York where she won the Apollo Theatre’s “Stars of Tomorrow” Competition.  Asia has been featured in the New York Times and The Jackson Sun newspapers, in Vogue Italia, and was a featured guest on The Harry Connick Jr. Show and HLN's The Morning Express with Robin Meade.

Asia loves to give back to her community.  At 11 years old, Asia founded her non-profit organization, Asia Hickman Music Inc., which provides music lessons to underprivileged youth worldwide.  In 2017, she launched her “Partnership With a Purpose” campaign that provides portable pianos to children in hospitals across the United States.  She is a six-time recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award and was recognized for raising more than $12,000 in donations to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  In addition, she volunteers at Ronald McDonald House and was awarded the Red Show Philanthrophy Award at Ronald McDonald House.  

Asia graduated from the prestigious LaGuardia High School for Performing Arts and Music in New York City and was a member of Carnegie Hall’s “Future Music Project Ensemble.” She is also a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music’s pre-college program, where she received her music instrumentalist endorsement.  Asia is currently a rising sophomore at the University of Alabama where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Piano Performance and Music Theory with a minor in French.
